Back in the 90s, artificial intelligence was far more primitive. After collating information from the early internet and noticing that panties were a prized sight, one such intelligence came to a rather bizarre conclusion – the quickest way to a woman’s heart is through her panties.
Wait a second, that doesn’t seem right. Rather, the quickest way to learn the ins and outs of a woman’s personality is by stealing her panties and analyzing them. That makes more sense.
Yakuza 0 is one of the few games to aim high and knock everything out of the park. A prequel to the Yakuza franchise, it introduces Kiryu Kazuma and Majima Goro 17 years before the main events of the first game. Their individual stories start with no clear connection – Kiryu is accused of murder on a vital plot of land in Tokyo while Majima is working his way back into the Shimano family in Osaka. But as the finale approaches, the thread holding everything together becomes apparent, bringing both stories on a collision course.

Originally released in 2006, Final Fantasy XII quickly became one of my favorite games once I got around to playing it. It was beautiful, fun, and had plenty to dig in to. This year, the Zodiac Age remaster presented a spiffed-up version of the game, combining the best of the Japan-only “International Zodiac Job System” (IZJS) version with plenty of new improvements.

Hello. So, it’s been over a month since my last post. I’m just going to clarify a few things.
I have not abandoned the site. I am not physically or mentally ill (I think). During spring break an emergency came up, since then I have been heavily distracted by something else, and altogether I am just not quite in the mood to write anything. Along with that, I haven’t played or watched too much recently, so I don’t really have anything I’d be looking to write on in the immediate future. I’ve read some awful books, so maybe I’ll do something along that route.
Anyways, I don’t know when my next actual post will be, but it’s coming. Soon™?

Many games are flawed gems, with the quality diminished ever-so-slightly by minor quirks, but still rounding out to be positive experiences. Cyber Sleuth is not quite one of those games. In many ways, it’s a complete mess, but it barely edges out to be worth the time.
This time around is a combination of recent things and leftovers I took too long to post on. True suffering incoming.
Nier is an interesting game, and going into it I only had an inkling of an idea of what to expect. It’s a spin-off of the Drakengard series (specifically of the first game), of which I have only played Drakengard 3. If you read my review, you’d know that I have a very mixed opinion on that one. While Nier has substantial differences, particularly in where it succeeds or pales in comparison, there is one main detail that makes this a better game – it’s fun. And it doesn’t conclude with a mechanically broken rhythm game. Okay, so that’s two things.
The first movie was okay as an adaptation, but not that great as a film. The second movie was better as a film, but took more creative liberty as an adaptation. The third movie is just a mess. They should have called it “Ryoji is here guys, so let’s make this movie about him now! Except where we need to jam in fights because I guess there was a plot we need to adapt.”
Just like my post on the second movie, there will be some spoilers. So play Persona 3 FES first if you’re looking to avoid them.

The concept of “waifus” has been around for quite a long time, but only rarely do I come across a character I’d consider using the term for. Someone, while fictional, who stands far apart from the crowd and you can imagine being a significant other (at least in an ideal situation) is quite rare. Even then, narrowing this down to 10 characters was quite difficult, but here are my top 10 waifus!
While I said I probably wouldn’t post anything for this season, I ended up trying out a few extra shows (and one I forgot was airing). So let’s see how everything goes!
For a game that seemed to already be pushing the limits of spin-offs and adaptations, Persona 4’s latest addition takes the cake as the most baffling spawn. If only more turn-based JRPGs had rhythm game spin-offs. Focused on dancing.
Just kidding.
When it was announced that Kizumonogatari would be split into three movies, I thought this might happen. I didn’t think the result could be this bad though.
Over the past month, I ended up playing a bit of catch-up with albums from the year that I hadn’t picked up yet. I’ve reached a weird point where I have too much music and too little time. But anyways, here are my top 5 albums of the past year!

Two years ago today, I started up and wrote my first post on this site. To be honest, it feels like it was even longer ago than that, mostly as a result of a lot of tons of stuff happening in real life since then.
But seriously, thanks everyone! If nobody read this stuff, it would be a bit awkward.
So this is a pretty vague poll, but basically I’m looking for what you all would be interested in seeing posts on! I have ideas that will happen regardless, but for the sake of the poll I put three other potential ideas in, and you can type in whatever other choice you want. A game coming out soon? An anime series? Anything a bit outside what I normally do? Whatever it is, it’s perfectly okay – any suggestions are welcome!

Have you ever yearned for a game that entices your need to “catch ’em all” in the same manner as Pokemon, but with pretty young anime girls in place of animals, keychains, and ice cream? Something to kindle your masochist desires, packaged with a mediocre rhythm game? Well, do I have the solution for you!
Do you ever play a video game and think, “I wish real life was like this?” I sometimes have that feeling.
But not with any of these games.
A common trend for this season was that the first episodes didn’t do much for me, but things have improved as they went along. Sort of. I don’t have too much to say though.
Originally released in 2011, Go! Go! Nippon! ~My First Trip to Japan~ offered readers the chance to experience Japan from a tourist’s perspective, all while accompanied by two pretty young anime girls. The recent update, simply titled Go! Go! Nippon! 2015, takes the base visual novel originally offered four years ago, and spruces it up with enhanced visuals, more content, and general improvements to the experience.
Most importantly, there are more “…Hnngh!!”s than ever before.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve written an anime review, so I figured I’d throw this in for the time being. Rather than “formal” reviews, these are like miniature rants. But I do have some good things to say. Some.
